In English, I constantly struggled with determining which writing techniques to use and was uncertain about the appropriate formats, which was frustrating. I scored a B4 for English in my Sec 3 End-of-Year exams.

Upon joining Good School Learning Hub, I realized the Secondary English lessons at Good School Kovan were different because the tutor employed various formulas to simplify approaching questions. I appreciate the lessons as Mr Tan provided us with regular feedback on our work, allowing us to learn from our mistakes. The classroom was spacious, and since there weren't many students, there were plenty of opportunities to ask questions.

After joining Good School, I experienced a two-grade improvement and scored an A2 for my O level.

I would like to share my positive experience with Good School Learning Hub as a Normal Academic student, particularly regarding Mathematics. I began attending their Secondary E Math classes towards the end of Secondary 2 due to ongoing struggles with the subject. Before joining Good School, I consistently failed Mathematics, finding it challenging to comprehend questions and apply formulas to solve word problems, resulting in a U grade.

However, upon joining Mr. Zhang's class at Good School Kovan, my Mathematics performance improved significantly. Throughout Secondary 3 and the initial months of Secondary 4, I continued to excel. Mr. Zhang's teaching method was instrumental in enhancing my understanding of mathematical concepts. His classes were informative, and he made sure to clarify my doubts thoroughly before progressing to new topics. Additionally, his teaching style was engaging and infused with humor, making the lessons enjoyable.

Despite facing challenges during revision for my prelims and N-level exams, I experienced a remarkable two-grade improvement. Ultimately, I achieved a grade 4 in Mathematics for my N-level exams, all thanks to Mr. Zhang's guidance and support.

For Secondary English, I struggled with knowing how to study effectively, particularly in scoring well for different sections of the paper, such as writing essays. I often faced difficulties managing my time and generating ideas. I used to believe that simply reading through past year papers was sufficient. My end-of-year exam score was 53/100, and I consistently hovered between just passing and failing by a small margin.

However, after joining Good School Kovan, I learned techniques and formulas that helped me plan better compositions. I found myself finishing my compositions earlier than expected and with more developed ideas. For comprehension, I became adept at identifying question types and answering them accordingly. The lessons were engaging, thanks to the motivating and interesting Mr Tan. This newfound motivation has encouraged me to study better for English.

As a result, I achieved a two-grade improvement and scored a B4 for my N level English. I would definitely recommend Good School to my peers, especially if their English skills are still weak, as it has been incredibly helpful and beneficial.

I always thought that English was a subject in which you don’t have to study to improve as it is a language, and I thought that I just had to read books/listen to podcasts. I scored D7 for my Secondary English WA2.

It was comprehension, which was my weakest component in English. Ms Sarah at Good School Tampines taught us techniques and tips to answer different comprehension questions and would always do her best to make sure that we are calm before each exam. she gave us meditation tips to calm down, and public speaking tips before our oral exam.

I went from a D7 to a B3, I actually did recommend 3 friends to join Good School before our O Levels. I would still recommend people to join Good School as there really is a difference in what and how Good School teaches compared to what we are taught in school. Thank you Ms Sarah for always sharing with us weird and interesting news and fun stories! Your lessons are super fun and thank you for helping me make a significant improvement in my English grade!

I struggled with writing and oral communication, lacking the necessary vocabulary and organization of my thoughts. Comprehension posed another challenge, as I often found it difficult to grasp meanings and select the correct points from passages to answer questions. Initially, I believed that English was solely about extensive reading. I consistently failed class tests and only managed to achieve a B4 in my end-of-year examinations.
However, at Good School, lessons were not focused solely on memorization; instead, they included the use of logic models and formulas. Demonstrations followed by classwork made it easier for me to understand and eventually apply the techniques. I no longer felt lost when tackling comprehension questions or planning for essays and oral presentations. Mr. Tan also incorporated a variety of materials, such as news sharing and small tests on Mentimeter, enriching the learning experience. The lessons were engaging, and the atmosphere was supportive and open. With a small class size, I felt comfortable speaking up and asking questions. I could clarify my doubts during and after lessons through WhatsApp. His prompt and constructive feedback, along with practical suggestions for improvement, were invaluable.
As a result of about two years of Secondary English lessons at Good School Kovan, including holiday programs, I achieved a two-grade improvement and scored an A2 for English during O levels. I highly recommend Good School because the lessons helped me answer English papers with more ease and confidence. The teaching methods and techniques were clear and effective, focusing on every component of the subject. Throughout the lessons, I received useful guidance and support

English was not my strongest subject and I did not know what was the best way to study for English.

After joining Good School Kovan, Mr Justtin Tan helped me understand how to do well in English in a much clearer and concise way which made me realize that I could have studied Science more productively as well.

Good School has helped me to understand the different methods to get better grades in Primary English and Science.

I scored an AL3 before joining Good School Tampines in Primary 4. My English teacher at school had many students with different problems to look after and always moved too fast and I was not able to clarify my doubts when I had them. The lessons at Good School helped me improve as the class only consisted of a small number of students and everyone was given the attention that they deserved. The friendly and encouraging environment in the class also allowed shy students to voice their opinions and troubles. Teacher Justtin was able to get the class to understand and memorise the concepts better by coming up with creative ways for the students to have fun while learning at the same time. He also helped different students with their personal needs and helped everyone improve by taking more initiative in his lesson planning. Teacher Justtin would always welcome questions and would always explain them clearly so that the students would fully understand and not be confused as many different methods can be overwhelming at times.

I have joined Good School since Primary 4 and I believe that over those 3 years, I have improved greatly and not only memorised but fully understood the methods being taught as I know when and where to apply them in my daily work. For my prelims, I scored an AL4 for my English. I was pretty devastated but teacher Justtin continued to encourage me and in the end, I managed to score an AL2 for English for PSLE.

I didn’t think English tuition would work as I was under the impression that he just needed to read more and do more assessment books. When my son’s result dipped in the first half of 2023, I panicked and that’s when I decided to enroll him at Good School Tampines.

In Good School, Teacher Justtin taught him the techniques to score in his composition and the pitfalls to look out for. He kept the lessons interesting and my son was always looking forward to attending his Primary English lessons. He achieved an AL3 in his PSLE which was a 3-grades jump in 6 months. We were thrilled and proud of this improvement and achievement.

I would recommend Good School as his results show how English tuition can be effective if you meet a good teacher.

Science was new to me in Primary 3. Most of the time, I hardly understood what the teacher said in class and often relied on the textbook, so my science grades were so-so. I joined Good School Kovan in Primary 4 under Mr Justtin Tan. The Primary Science lessons were very different from what I was used to in school, where everything was by the books. At Good School, there was a lot of fun ways to memorize the concepts, which made learning science easier for me. Mr Tan’s lessons were something I looked forward to every week, as his lessons were thoroughly enjoyable. He liked to make us laugh during his lessons, making jokes to help us memorize science concepts.
The school has a very conducive learning environment, as it is very quiet during lessons. The class size is of around 10 students, meaning that the classroom would not have to be very big. It was a place where I could clarify my doubts about what my science teacher taught at school. Mr Tan’s answers were also easy to understand, thus allowing me to further expand my knowledge in science. During prelims, I was not satisfied with my score of AL3 for Science as I knew that I could’ve done better. With Mr Tan’s help, I managed to achieve an AL2 for PSLE.
I would recommend Good School to my juniors as the lessons are easy to understand, and it is a place to clarify your doubts and test your understanding of the chapters. You also learn things outside of the syllabus and sometimes get to play games to further understand the concepts.
